Maintenance Millwright/Welder/Field Service Technician-Shot Blast Machines
Summary:
Engage in repair, rebuilding, troubleshoot, maintaining and installing steel Shot Blast machines, Dust Collectors, Metal Ductwork, tools and equipment within the Kotlyn facility and in various customer off-site projects.
Essential Duties and responsibilities are broken down below and other duties may be assigned as needed. EXPERIENCE PREFERRED 2-5 YEARS
Cleveland Facility:
- Maintain, repair, weld and construct mechanical systems.
- Repair and rebuild customer equipment brought into shop. Must be able to make repairs and adjustment or replacement of worn or defective parts on a wide variety of machinery and equipment. Must be able to dismantle and assemble machinery and equipment requiring close fitting and aligning with minimum to average supervision and be proficient in the use of all equipment and tools necessary to perform this work. Must be able to make simple repairs to parts and be able to use measuring tools to secure tolerances of +/- .005”.
- Move machinery and equipment with hoists and lift trucks. Must be able to do common methods of rigging or handling of heavy machinery of parts in a safe manner with minimum to average supervision.
- Must be able to operate a variety of equipment, including the use of welding and burning equipment for minor repairs.
- Repair and maintain all shop equipment.
- Essential cleaning duties to keep your area safe and hazard free.
- Perform other duties as requested.
Customer on-site:
- Repair-Rebuild, equipment onsite. Fabricate, Weld, dismantle-reassemble using hand and power tools.
- Ability to travel and stay several days/nights on-site. Travel includes regional and national. Travel includes M-F and maybe weekends. Must be able to travel at a moment’s notice in case of emergency repairs needed.
- Read and utilize customer manuals for repairs and diagnostics.
- Clean, replace and install parts to maintain operation of equipment.
- Assemble, install, repair and align equipment as needed.
- Work with minimal supervision in compliance with all safety requirements.
- Well mannered – Respectful and able to work with all different types of customers.
- Result driven and quality focused who is mechanically inclined in equipment maintenance.
- Diagnose problems to determine solutions.
Skills needed:
- One-year certificate from college or technical school
- 3+ years experience with Steel Shot Blast Machines. If you have experience with Pangborn, Wheelabrator, Goff, BCP, Gibson, or Sinto, pay could increase.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and engineering drawings, equipment manuals, operation manuals, procedure manuals, and blueprints.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic mathematic skills for fabrication
- Knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Manual dexterity – ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or two hands to grasp, manipulate or assemble objects.
- Ability to perform mig and stick welds – technical degree or field experience relative
- Strong mechanical abilities.
- Problem Solving
- Perform general physical activities that require considerable use of your whole body (climbing, lifting, walking, balancing, bending and stooping), as well as the ability to handle up to 75 pounds.
- Clean and valid driver’s license.
- Willingness to work extended hours (including overtime as needed) and open to being placed on any shift
- Must arrive with the following PPE equipment: welding helmet and gloves, steel toed boots, and hand tools.
Work environment at shop and on-site:
- Physical exertion
